Awake Church approached STITCH with a vision to transform a dilapidated former retail space into a vibrant place of worship and a gathering zone for the community. The comprehensive renovation resulted in a dynamic and inviting space that reflects the church’s mission to foster community. Inside, the space was reimagined with unique finishes and carefully curated materials to evoke a sense of modern comfort and timeless elegance. and togetherness.

The project sought to breathe new life into the building, which was originally a rundown Food Lion plagued by water damage and mold, and create a space that inspires connection, hospitality, and spiritual growth.
The exterior underwent major updates to provide the church with an eye-catching exterior to serve as a beacon of warmth and openness, inviting both the congregation and the surrounding community to step inside.
The interior includes spacious open lobby that functions as a welcoming hub for mingling and informal gatherings. Flexible seating areas and thoughtfully designed indoor conversation hubs encourage interaction, allowing members of the congregation to connect in meaningful ways.
Every detail, from space planning to finishes, was selected to foster a sense of peace and belonging, transforming the once-decrepit space into a vibrant home for worship and community.
