Renfro Brands: Loops + Wales
Workplace
STITCH was tasked with creating a versatile shared meeting space and pop-up retail prototype that would seamlessly blend functional design with creative brand opportunities. Drawing inspiration from the materiality and process of knitting, the design concept reimagines a traditional conference room while integrating spaces for the brand to test merchandising schemes and film social media content.

The design incorporates the concept of knitting techniques and patterns, which inform both the spatial organization and the aesthetic details of the space. The conference room, once a conventional space, has been transformed with undulating white and wood forms that echo the fluidity of knitted fabric. These sculptural elements reference simplified knitting diagrams and provide a dynamic backdrop for meetings and collaborative sessions.
Custom chevron-patterned elements are strategically introduced into the design, offering a visual reference to the intricate loops and wales of knitted textiles. The geometric patterns and textures create a tactile connection to the brand’s craftsmanship while maintaining a modern, streamlined aesthetic. Additionally, the design features filtered views and layered panels that evoke the effect of stretching a knitted product, revealing the underlying structure and pattern in a subtle yet striking manner.
The retail prototype, seamlessly integrated into the overall design, provides flexible display opportunities for testing merchandising schemes. Whether showcasing new products, experimenting with visual merchandising, or filming content for social media, the space adapts to the evolving needs of the brand. The design’s openness and modularity enable easy reconfiguration, making it an ideal setting for experimentation and brand expression.
By intertwining the process of knitting with functional design, the space serves as a living testament to the brand’s heritage and creativity. The careful attention to materiality, texture, and form not only celebrates the brand’s craft but also creates an immersive and engaging environment where ideas are woven together, and brand identity is showcased.
