Hotel Roanoke
Hospitality
Originally constructed in 1882, Hotel Roanoke has long stood as an architectural and cultural landmark in the heart of downtown Roanoke. The hotel’s Tudor-style architecture reflects its storied past, while its commitment to innovation and regular renovations ensures it remains a leader in hospitality. To maintain its competitive edge within Roanoke’s flourishing food and beverage scene, the hotel sought a comprehensive update to three key areas: the 1882 Bar, Pine Room, and exterior patio.

The Pine Room, just steps away from the 1882 Bar, presented an opportunity to enhance the spatial flow between these two key areas. Once this was established, the rich history of the Hotel informed an updated interior that connects past comforts with modern appointments.
The reimagined 1882 Bar features a statement column behind the bar and a captivating “starry sky” overhead, a nod to the awe-inspiring natural beauty surrounding the hotel.
This celestial motif extends to the adjacent patio, where thoughtful design elements highlight breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, creating a memorable indoor-outdoor experience.
The Pine Room’s updates harmonize with the bar and patio, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that celebrates tradition while embracing modern sophistication. Together, these revitalized spaces honor Hotel Roanoke’s legacy, ensuring it continues to be a centerpiece of Roanoke’s vibrant cultural and culinary scene.
