Natty Greene’s is a restaurant and brewery that has been a cornerstone of the Downtown Greensboro community for over 20 years. After offloading the majority of their brewing operation during the pandemic, the owner was ready to bring it back in-house. The resulting new brewhouse and pavilion takes advantage of an extremely constrained site, fitting snugly between utility easements and site setbacks while still providing enough room for large brewing tanks and equipment. The building is distinctive within the downtown landscape without feeling out of place, accomplished through exterior materials that nod to the adjacent railway, rich, warm tones of brewed beer, and coloration of the neighboring restaurant building.
